9.1/10One of the first things to know about streaming DIRECTV is that their lineups don't include any fluff or channel fillers. That means no music or part-time channels you get with a lot of providers. DIRECTV specializes in sports and that adds a ton of value here. For starters, you'll get more regional sports networks (RSNs) than ANY streaming provider out there.

Is streaming DIRECTV better than satellite?
For the most part, yes. Of course, you need sufficiently fast internet to stream TV (at least 5 Mbps). Satellite plans include a 2-year price guarantee but require a contract of the same length. So, unless you have slow internet or don't want to risk any price hikes, choose streaming. Read more key factors here.
Do I need to use the Gemini device?
No. It's optional but being from DIRECTV, the look and feel of the program guide may be preferable and it provides the most satellite/cable-like experience. Otherwise, we typically recommend Apple TV as it's very stable, snappy and feature-rich.
Why should I stream with DIRECTV over competitors?
In a word, sports. DIRECTV has the most regional sports of any streaming provider (including Fubo). They also seem to be less impacted by licensing issues so their actual lineup is a bit more stable than others.
